The e-Commerce course offers a general vision of the technological advances that enable to carry out commercial practices through the integrated elements of the Internet, as well as generic managerial strategies applied to the needs of companies who decide to use the Internet as a mechanism to reach their target markets, to service their current clients and lure potential ones. E-Commerce is a course that requires knowledge of management, marketing, finances, information systems and skills in the use of computer applications and the Internet. The aim of the course is to promote the student’s ability to analyze, design and construct commercialization strategies for products and services through the Internet.
Cynthia Scott Vargas graduated with honors from the program of Master of Business Administration from the Universidad Metropolitana Castro Carazo (UMCA); she also holds degree in Electric engineering from the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR). Furthermore, Mrs. Scott graduated from the Programa de Alta Gerencia at INCAE and Project Management from the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (ITCR). Mrs. Scott has more than eighteen years of experience in the information technology area, as she has worked in a variety of programs and departments at Radiográfica Costarricense (RACSA) and the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE).
